Flow Queue
How flow queues work
A flow pushes one or more items into the queue.
The queue stores items in the order they arrive.
When an execution slot is available, the queue waits for the configured execution delay.
The configured flow starts with the oldest waiting item as input.
If the configured number of executions is aborted consecutively, the queue stops.
Create a queue
Go to Flows → Queue.
Click Create Queue.
Enter a queue name and select the flow that processes its items.
Configure the queue settings.
Click Save.
You need the Flow Manage scope to create or change queues. Flows address queues by path, such as /queues/orders.

Queue settings
Setting | Meaning | Default | Range |
|---|---|---|---|
Capacity | Maximum number of items waiting in the queue. | 100 | 1–10,000 |
Concurrent Executions | Maximum number of flows that can run at the same time. | 1 | 1–4 |
Execution Delay (seconds) | Waiting time before each flow starts. | 30 | 0–300 |
Failure Cutoff | Number of consecutive aborted executions that stops the queue. | 10 | 1–1,000 |
Queue settings ranges can be changed under Administration → Configuration → Queue.
The execution delay applies before every start, including the first item. Set it to
0to start flows immediately.Items start in queue order. With multiple concurrent executions, they may finish in a different order.
Failed, timed-out, and cancelled executions count toward the Failure Cutoff.
A successful execution resets the consecutive-failure count.
All waiting items in a queue can use a maximum of 50 MB.
Push items to a queue
In the Flow Editor, use the Queue category to add one of these instructions:
Push To Queue adds one item.
Push Multiple To Queue adds one item for each element in a JSON array.
Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
Queue | The queue that receives the item or items. |
Item / Item list | Any JSON value, or a JSON array of items when using Push Multiple To Queue. |
Item ID / Item IDs | Output containing the ID or IDs assigned to the queued items. |
Process queued items
The configured flow starts once for each queued item. The item is available in $.inputParams.
Items are not retried. If the processing flow fails, times out, or is cancelled, the execution is counted as aborted and the item is not processed again.

Monitor and manage a queue
Monitor queue activity
Open a queue to view its status and key figures.
Items in Queue and Running Executions show the current load compared with the capacity and concurrency limits.
Successful Executions, Aborted Executions, and Consecutive failures show processing results. Aborted executions are grouped by kind.
The Recent executions tab lists the 100 most recent executions and links to their details.
Change settings
Open the queue and select the Configuration tab.
Click Edit.
Change the settings and click Save.
Configuration changes apply from the next flow start. Values outside the allowed range are rejected.
Stop, resume, clear, or delete
Action | Effect |
|---|---|
Stop | Starts no new flows. Running flows finish, waiting items are kept, and new pushes fail. |
Resume | Continues processing and resets the consecutive-failure count. |
Clear Queue | Removes all waiting items. Available only while the queue is stopped. |
Delete | Removes the queue and all items in it. |
The queue also stops automatically when the Failure Cutoff is reached or when its configured flow can no longer be found, for example because the flow was deleted or renamed.
Other Queue instructions
Instruction | Purpose |
|---|---|
Retrieve From Queue | Returns the state of an item by ID: waiting, being processed, processed, or not found. |
Dequeue From Queue | Removes a waiting item by ID. |
Get Queue Info | Returns queue statistics, waiting item IDs, or the waiting items themselves. |
