Rosenberger Optimizes Processes and Ensures Traceability through Automation Along the SAP IT Value Chain
Challenge
Rosenberger Hochfrequenztechnik GmbH & Co. KG is a global leader in connectivity solutions for high-frequency, high-voltage, and fiber-optic technologies. As part of a comprehensive SAP transformation project, the company sought a scalable solution to integrate requirement, development, and testing processes across systems — with the goal of ensuring end-to-end traceability and structural compliance: from requirements management to SAP software logistics and the integration of test management.
With the implementation of SAP Cloud ALM and Atlassian Jira, it quickly became clear that a powerful, bidirectional, and audit-proof interface was essential to avoid media disruptions, duplicate data entry, and manual errors. Jira was intended to serve as the single point of truth for requirements. The choice fell on Conigma™ Connect by Galileo Group AG, which impressed with its technical agility, strong consulting expertise, and rapid implementation. Despite the fact that SAP Cloud ALM supported only limited interfaces at the start of the project, a high degree of integration was achieved through a cooperative and solution-oriented approach.
“We were operating in a technically unexplored area. This level of quality would not have been possible without Galileo Group AG's leading technology expertise and strong commitment,” says Christoph Stolz, Head of Test Management at Rosenberger. “Especially in the early project phase, there were many changes in SAP CALM that Galileo had to react to immediately, requiring a great deal of exploratory work.”
Solution & Benefits: Quality assurance and consistency across complex, multi-system projects without additional effort.
A central goal of the project was the end-to-end traceability of requirements from development to test coverage. Thanks to validation-based integration using Conigma™ Connect, erroneous or incomplete data could be caught early. This not only improved data quality but also enhanced the learning effect within the Rosenberger project team. At the same time, automation significantly reduced manual routine tasks.
This ensured that no additional effort was required from project members, allowing them to focus on what truly matters: designing, implementing, and securing processes. This increased both project acceptance and performance — as Christoph Stolz notes.
“The greatest value for me? Clearly: validation. It protects the systems from chaos and enables structured, traceable processes — from start to finish,” says Christoph Stolz.
Approach: Agility, transparency, and quality by design
A key element of the solution was the open, transparent architecture of Conigma™ Connect.
The JSON-based data structures allowed the team to see exactly what information was being exchanged between systems at all times. This not only created transparency but also built trust — even among less technically experienced users. The increased traceability proved to be a real benefit for Christoph Stolz, as the root causes of errors could be identified and resolved more quickly.
“I was able to understand the technical side and, after a brief introduction to Conigma™ Connect, customize it myself — it was on-the-job training for me.”
Instead of a black box, the solution provided a platform for active participation and internal knowledge building. The collaboration with the Galileo Group AG team was highlighted as particularly positive. Adjustments to new requirements — such as process logic, validations, or interface behavior — could be implemented quickly and flexibly. Stolz emphasizes the fast response time and direct access to competent contacts: even more complex changes were often realized within just a few days, enabling a high degree of project momentum and avoiding unnecessary delays.
As a result, Rosenberger not only implemented a technical solution but also established an agile framework that brought clarity, participation, and speed to everyday project work in a new way.
Outlook: Scalable integration of further ecosystems: BPMN, Test Management, DevOps …
Rosenberger is already planning the next steps: such as connecting Signavio for process modeling and automated test case generation, or introducing a centralized test data management system. Conigma™ Connect provides the technological foundation for this — flexible, open, and adaptable to new scenarios. For Rosenberger, it is important that a fully automated, bidirectional integration is in place, not just a unidirectional push functionality. Only in this way can the compliance principle of the single point of truth be maintained across the entire IT value chain.
“What used to take weeks, we now implement in days. That is digital transformation in action — rapid time-to-market, transparent, traceable, and with real added value for all involved,” concludes Christoph Stolz.
The partnership with Galileo Group AG stands for a successful combination of technology, consulting, and efficiency — with lasting impact.
“The greatest value for me? Clearly: validation. It protects the systems from chaos and enables structured, traceable processes — from start to finish.”
