Automated Rollout of SAP Cloud ALM Features with Conigma

In this video, we demonstrate how global developments and customizing changes can be efficiently and automatically distributed to local system landscapes – powered by SAP Cloud ALM and Conigma.

The starting point is a typical system landscape consisting of Development, QA, and Production systems, where developments and adjustments are carried out centrally in the global template. After successful development and testing, the changes are transported to production. The import into the global production system serves as the trigger for Conigma, which then takes over the subsequent rollout process.

Conigma automates several key steps:

  • Creation of features for each local landscape

  • Consolidation and distribution of the original transports using so-called “transports of copies”

  • Automated repackaging into local workbench and customizing transport requests

This ensures that global changes are consistently and systematically transferred to all local systems, where they can be further transported within the respective landscapes.

A particular focus is placed on the targeted control of distributed content. By using whitelists (or alternatively blacklists), it is defined which objects and customizing entries are actually transferred to the local landscapes. This keeps the distribution transparent, controlled, and efficient.

The result is a fully automated cross-landscape deployment (XLD) process, in which all relevant changes are made available in the local systems – including ready-to-use transport requests for subsequent testing and production deployment.

With Conigma, the rollout of global developments becomes not only faster, but also significantly more secure and traceable.
