Munich, 29th of June, 2010 - Galileo Tools GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of software solutions for SAP® change, release and transport management today announces the availability of version 2.1 of Conigma™ DEVSYNC. Focus of the new version 2.1 was a highly improved support for distributed tasks and roles during the process of synchronizing SAP systems which are typical in a larger organization. To achieve this objective, the following functionalities has been implemented:
Multi-User Support
In particular for larger SAP teams, it is now possible, that several developers are able to work in parallel on the objects, they are responsible for, if synchronization becomes necessary. The individual decisions how to deal with an object will be stored, but not yet built into a transport order, so there can be additional changes by other users. After finishing the decisions regarding synchronization for all objects, a final Conigma™ DEVSYNC run takes place, taking over all objects being marked for synchronization in one transport order.
Security
Introducing multi-user support required also an extension of the security model of Conigma™ DEVSYNC. The new SAP roles for Conigma™ DEVSYNC differentiate between developers who are allowed to work on objects, mark and store them for synchronization and the users, who are allowed to build and release the transport order for a synchronization run.
„Blacklist“ Functionality
Conigma™ DEVSYNC now offers a function to exclude specific objects, groups of objects or table entries from synchronization. For each source system a list may be defined, which is used to check for specific characteristics of an object like type, name, class. Objects matching one of the characteristics cannot be selected for synchronization, but the Conigma™ DEVSYNC analysis will be performed allowing to recognize whether such an object may lead to a conflict or requires synchronization. Each of the exclusions in the list may be documented and the users have access to this documentation via the graphical user interface.
„The new version of Conigma™ DEVSYNC, which since a couple of weeks is in productive use at pilot customers, has been extended particularly for the use by larger SAP teams. Now on the one hand synchronization maybe worked on by several developers in parallel, on the other hand the roles and responsibilities within a team are supported in an optimal way“, said Josef Huber, General Manager of Galileo Tools GmbH. „Conigma™ DEVSYNC enables the SAP users to save a lot of time and money by highly automating the process of synchronization and in parallel avoiding typical errors and their consequences.“

Munich, April 7, 2010 - Galileo Tools GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of software solutions for SAP® change, release and transport management announces that Conigma CCM is now available in the latest version 3.5. The new version contains significant improvements in nearly all areas of documenting, controlling and automating the cost-intense IT processes for SAP release-, change- and transport management.
„Like with all earlier versions of Conigma, we have developed Conigma CCM version 3.5 in close cooperation with our clients and prospects focusing on areas of improvement, which provide the highest return for them. As IT budgets are still tight, automation as well as the elimination of sources of errors and unnecessary rework is yet highest priority for IT organizations“, said Josef Huber, General Manager at Galileo Tools GmbH. „We are convinced, that any organization running SAP and a well-defined, professional change management approach underlyed by Conigma, will experience significant cost reduction in conjunction with higher quality within a very short period of time.“
Conigma™ CCM Version 3.5In addition to many extensions and enhancements within the graphical user interface, Conigma now provides the following new functionalities.
Management of documentsFor describing bugs, the definition of new requirements, quality assurance procedures or release notes, frequently text documents, small presentations and screen shots contain important information, necessary for the IT staff working on SAP changes. With version 3.5 of Conigma such documents, which are typically related to a SAP change request, release or a bug, may be stored and managed directly in Conigma CCM without the need for an additional document management system.
Impact analysis of „overtakers“ on object levelSAP change orders are lists with R/3 objects being released, exported and needs to be imported into other SAP systems or clients. The change orders in the import queue of a SAP system are ordered strictly sequential using the release time as criteria.Importing a change order into SAP may be done in two different ways – “final import” or “preliminary import” (“overtaker”). If a user imports a change order, which is part of the import queue without importing all predecessors, such an import should be executed as a “preliminary import”, as deviations from the export sequence will lead to a configuration, different to the source system, resulting frequently in a mixture of code and customizing, which does not work.To solve this issue, all preliminary imports stay in the import queue and will be imported again with the following import jobs, until they can be imported “final”. Latest at the time, when all preliminary imports have been imported final, the target SAP system has reached a consistent configuration again. In particular, if SAP customers are using a release-oriented change approach, „overtakers“ are a very common issue leading over the time to a significantly higher volume of import jobs (as the “overtakers” needs to be imported again and again). As this high volume quite often cannot be processed in the time-slot available for an import job, customers just do no re-import the „overtakers“, which may cause severe problems. With Conigma Version 3.5, it is possible now to analyze on object level, which “overtaker” may create a collision and needs to be imported again. Executing this detailed analysis leads to a drastically reduced number of re-imports, enabling also customers with narrow time-slots for import jobs to deal with „overtakers“ in the correct way. Additionally the user may run a simulation of an import job to find out exactly, how many of the “preliminary imports” has to be imported again.
Munich, February 2, 2010 – Galileo Group AG announces that it has been selected for the task of consulting and improving the SAP basis operations segment of Project IS2001 Release 3 by the IT Center of the German Federal Association of Agricultural Insurance (Landwirtschafltiche Sozialversicherung / LSV). Within the framework of Project IS2001, LSV is re-implementing its entire application software in the sectors of agricultural trade associations, pension, health and nursing insurance, based on SAP NetWeaver. The two major previous SAP releases included important basic functionalities such as business partners and disbursements;: in the years 2010 and 2011, Release 3 will cover significant extensions, i.e. more BI features, document management and data exchange.
Covering the wide range of business processes will be achieved by a constantly growing number of SAP functions and products, which leads not only to a extremely wide spread of technological expertise, but also to an increasing overload of the SAP basis team. In order to resolve this challenges, an intensive, know-how transfer of the latest SAP technologies is required as well as the corresponding best practices (e.g. SAP release management and release deployment for comprehensive SAP in-house developments, BI change processes in the context of an overall change management process, system sizing, SAP BI performance analysis or upgrade strategies). In addition, a large number of customer specific developments for the automation of routine work in the sphere of SAP NetWeaver operation should help to reduce the pressure (i.e. better leveraging Solution Manager Monitoring and Service Desk functions).
“For several years the Galileo Group AG, with its Conigma™ Suite for SAP Release and Change Management and the SAP Transport automation, has been an important cornerstone of our successful IS2001 Project,” explains Wolfgang Pippert, Head of the SAP Basis tema of LSV. “Consequently I am particularly pleased that the Galileo Group AG has made the most advantageous offer for the present contract. This means we now have the opportunity to make full use of our consulting partner’s wide experience in daily practice with SAP NetWeaver operation. After all, the functionality of Conigma™ has its foundation in this wide-ranging practical experience.”
