Munich, November 2, 2009 - Galileo Tools GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of software solutions for SAP® Change-, Release and Transport Management and sales partner of Empirius GmbH announces today, that Blue System Copy is immediately also available for SAP systems using IBM’s DB2 database. For many SAP customers the creation of a SAP system copy is a frequently executed task, being time consuming, cost intense and error-prone as many steps and checks still needs to be done manually. The combination of the both products Blue System Copy and Conigma™ QCOPY enable the user to setup a nearly full automatic process, which is much faster than the manual process, delivering higher quality and lead to significant cost savings regarding the operation of SAP.
„In the last years many companies have decided to use IBM DB2 as database for running their SAP systems. Now, we are capable to support also these companies with a solution to automate the process of creating a SAP system copy. The complexity of this still manual process results in many cases in faulty QA systems, causing expensive and time consuming work of specialists to cure the problem“, said Josef Huber, General Manager of Galileo Tools GmbH.
„The new version of Blue System Copy has already proven successfully its IBM DB2 capabilities at a pilot customer, therefore we are now looking forward to win new customers using this environment for their SAP systems”, added Hans Haselbeck, Managing Director of Empirius GmbH.
Blue System Copy
Blue System Copy optimizes and automates SAP’s standard process for system copies and enhances this process significantly with additional functionality. Blue System Copy allows copying SAP systems with an ABAP stack as well as SAP systems with a double stack. User Exits and R/3 User Exits allow creating and integrating customized automation steps, i.e. stopping and restarting the SAP system or third-party components, start the restore from tape or using customized preparation and post-processing jobs, as well as sending email notifications or to start the BDLS transaction. Preparation, cleanup and post-processing are large extents carried out automatically (settings which need to be kept on the target system are backed up prior to the copy job and automatically restored afterwards, e. g. within ALE scenarios).
Conigma™ QCOPY
Conigma™ QCOPY, part of the Conigma™ Suite, ensures after an SAP system copy and restoring that all required customizing and software components are installed automatically to achieve a consistent new configuration. Conigma QCOPY allows the user via a simple, intuitive graphical user interface to rebuild an SAP system into a consistent status after a system copy, and it also facilitates copying between different SAP clients. While it is not possible with the SAP interface to control technical modes how a software component needs to be installed, such modes are recognized by Conigma QCOPY and automatically implemented correctly. Additionally, independent from automating the process of a system copy or a restore from a backup, Conigma QCOPY allows many other operations on SAP queues, which are also controlled via the graphical user interface.

Munich, 7th of October, 2009 - Galileo Tools GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of software solutions for SAP® change, release and transport management today announces the availability of version 2 of Conigma™ DEVSYNC. Focus of this new version was a completely new, innovative analysis algorithm for determining the objects, which need to be synchronized as well as coverage of additional object types and a series of new features for enterprise-wide use.
The new analysis of Conigma™ DEVSCNC for objects needing synchronization now not only covers ABAP but also is able to deal with Customizing recognizing synchronization issues even for single table entries. If a customer is using Enhanced CTS (CTS+) for transporting Non-ABAP objects, also these objects will be discovered and added to the object list to be transported into the target SAP system. Conigma™ DEVSYNC does not need any prework or preparation to calculate the object list for synchronization as all required data will be computed during runtime. Therefore all historical objects, independent of age, are covered by the analysis. The new version contains also a special algorithm to handle source system dependant SAP BI objects as well as the corresponding special repack methodology.
The performance of analyzing the SAP systems and computing the object list has been improved dramatically by using intelligent caching mechanisms. This is essential to support enterprise-wide usage in complex SAP landscapes with huge data volumes.
The new, more user-friendly graphical user interface, which is completely integrated in SAPgui, offers several business critical features, i.e.
„With the current version of Conigma™ DEVSYNC, we have built the foundation for a true enterprise-wide usage. First real-world test have shown, that the new features generate significant benefits for organizations running several parallel SAP landscapes, which need synchronization“, said Josef Huber, General Manager of Galileo Tools GmbH. „Conigma™ DEVSYNC enables the SAP user to save a lot of time and money by highly automating the process of synchronization and in parallel to avoid typical errors and their consequences. Despite of the high degree of automation, the end user may still manually influence the synchronization result in a controlled environment, leveraging own knowledge and past experience.“
Munich, 20th July, 2009 - Galileo Tools GmbH, one of the leading suppliers of software solutions for SAP® change, release and transport management announces today the availability of a new licensing and pricing model for Conigma. A series of conversations with SAP application management providers made it very clear, that this kind of companies need a Conigma licensing and pricing strategy, which is much more aligned with their own business model and processes and heavily deviates from the traditional way of selling software licenses. Base of the new license model is the number of SAP end users, contracted by the application management provider, which needs to be reported regularly and building the base for quarterly invoicing. To reduce administrative effort to a minimum, this license model includes all Conigma modules and cost options as well as the maintenance and support fees. The temporarily limited licenses may be adjusted after end of each contract period upwards or downwards and do not require an upfront investment.
„This innovative licensing and pricing model addresses mainly company internal SAP service units and external application management providers. Many of this organizations charge their SAP application management services based on the number of SAP users registered on the managed SAP systems to operational units or external customers. Significant deviations regarding the number of SAP end users, caused by mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, winning and losing customers impact the business of the service providers quite often significantly“ said Josef Huber, General Manager at Galileo Tools GmbH. „A license model, capable to follow such changes is extremely valuable for such organizations. Due to the fact, that the service provider as well as the SAP end user gain significant benefits from using Conigma, the service provider is able to charge out a portion of the license fees to its customer.“
The Conigma Suite
In addition to the core product, Conigma CCM, the Conigma Suite comprises additional modules - Conigma QCOPY and Conigma DEVSYNC – which can also be licensed as individual products. The Conigma Suite enables SAP customers to significantly improve their IT processes for maintenance, develop-ment and operation of SAP resulting in higher productivity, lower costs and full compliance. At the same time, the quality of SAP Changes as well as the availability of SAP systems is raised. The Conigma Suite focuses on three areas: the automation of Change, Release and Transport Management processes for SAP (also taking into account compliance requirements in complex, parallel SAP landscapes); the integration of SAP Change, Release and Transport Management processes with Software Change and Configuration Management (SCCM) tools and helpdesk solutions within the client’s company; and the automation of recurring tasks within SAP’s basis technologies.
Galileo Tools GmbH, a subsidiary of the Galileo Group AG, is one of the leading providers of Change-, Release- and Transport-Management solutions for SAP®. The Conigma™ suite integrates administration and processes for adapting and customizing SAP software seamlessly with existing IT support infrastructure, such as SAP procedures for allocating software (ABAP TMS and Java CMS). These results in significant rationalization potential based on the more efficient, automated development and change processes; in addition, IT compliance initiatives are given optimal support by means of wide-ranging workflow functionalities and the detailed recording of all procedural steps.

Reporting
Evaluation of the information generated and managed by Conigma – for example, in order to discover and resolve weak points in the SAP change process, to facilitate fast decision-making in project and development management on the basis of current data, or to report on costs – is becoming increasingly important in a large number of IT organizations. Consequently the Report Manager in Conigma has been radically improved and now provides a series of templates for the reports most frequently required. These templates can be used easily by clients as base for the creation of further, customized reports. Reports are displayed in SAPgui and also in HTML and can be exported to MS-Excel for further work and graphical presentation.
